
One last tip, if you long press the camera app icon, it brings up an option to "take a selfie" which launches the camera into front facing mode. It seems that the main issue is to do with the autofocus being busted, so the magnet physically moves the lens around to manually focus it and can trick the phone into thinking it's focussing by itself instead of crashing. Then once it's open you can move the magnet around to focus the camera. So instead I just hold the magnet, try to open my camera, if it crashes then I move it again and try until I get it to open. I didn't tape/glue it down like they do, I could never find the perfect spot where it would work every time.
